Το Θαύμα: Μια πραγματική ιστορία” του Λεωνίδα Κουμάκη, αποτελεί μια ζωντανή μαρτυρία της τουρκικής πολιτικής απέναντι στον ελληνισμό τα τελευταία 100 χρόνια- και όχι μόνο. Το βιβλίο αυτό γράφτηκε το 1992 μέσα σε λίγα εικοσιτετράωρα σε ένα μικρό, λιτό δωμάτιο ενός Αιγαιοπελαγίτικου νησιού – απέναντι από τις αλησμόνητες πατρίδες. Κυκλοφόρησε το 1993 και επανεκδόθηκε το 1994 και το 1996- και οι τρεις εκδόσεις του έχουν εξαντληθεί εδώ και πολλά χρόνια. Η τελευταία έντυπη Ελληνική έκδοση του βιβλίου έγινε το 2008, με εισαγωγικό σημείωμα του Βυζαντινολόγου και Ιστορικού, Καθηγητή Σπύρου Βρυώνη Jr. και ένα πρόσθετο παράρτημα με επιλεγμένες κρίσεις που συγκέντρωσε το βιβλίο από τις προηγούμενες εκδόσεις του.
Η τελευταία, πέμπτη έκδοση έτους 2020 (σε e-book), έχει σαν βάση την τέταρτη (έντυπη) έκδοση του 2008, επικαιροποιημένη όσον αφορά την πλούσια βιβλιογραφία, τον πρόλογο και τον επίλογο του συγγραφέα καθώς και την διόρθωση ελάχιστων ημαρτημένων της αμέσως προηγούμενης έκδοσης.

The Miracle – A true story: A timeless book about Turkey’s inhuman policies
The Miracle – A true story”, a timeless book by Leonidas Koumakis, is a shocking testimony, based on the writer’s personal experiences, describing the uprooting of non-muslim populations from Constantinople and Anatolia. The book also addresses Turkey’s long-term expansive strategy against all its neighbors, methodically followed by all Turkish governments, after the Lausanne Treaty was signed on July 24, 1923.
“The Miracle – A true story” was first published between 1993 and 1996 in five consecutive editions (3 in Greek, 2 in English). Most of the 20,000 copies of the five editions were complimentary offered by the author to, among others:
6,000 school libraries throughout Greece, 1,200 Greek journalists, all the members of the Greek Parliament, all members of the Academy of Athens, the Metropolitans of the Church of Greece, the Greek Ambassadors and Consulates around the world, selected Hellenic Air Force units, important personalities of the Greek intellectual and social life, 626 members of the European Parliament, 439 members of the US Congress, 100 members of the US Senate, 653 members of the British Parliament, 575 members of the French Parliament, 591 members of the Canadian Federal Parliament, 223 members of the Federal Parliament of Australia, and more.
In 2008, fifteen years after its first edition, the fourth Greek edition of the book was released, with an introductory note by the Greek-American Byzantinologist and historian, Professor Spyros Vryonis Jr.
In 2019, the third English edition of the book is re-released on Amazon in paperback as well as in e-book (Kindle edition).
