Dear friends,
2018 has proven to be a nightmarish year for Greece. Tragic events have occurred that have marked forever the lives of many of our fellow humans. One of the tragic events was the lethal fires of July in Attica and Corinth which dragged at least 96 of our fellow human beings to a fiery death, destroyed thousands of acres of green land and destroyed homes and other structures of immense material value.
The INTERNATIONAL HELLENIC ASSOCIATION (IHA) is participating in the nationwide effort to support the victims of the fires and has decided to focus its assistance on the areas of Corinth and Megara.
For this purpose, IHA has come into contact with schools in the area, the community of Kinetta, in which 220 houses were turned to ashesand the “Agioi Theodoroi” Forest Protection Association, thus creating a detailed list of the huge needs that exist.
All needs have been aggregated, with an allocated budget forevery need, and can be found HERE at the IHA website
As part of a nationwide effort, we call on those wishing to undertake their support – in whole or in part – for a specific need from those listed in detail on the IHA website, e.g. fire retardant blankets or school bags for children’s needs, and so on.
The IHA will promptly inform interested parties of potential suppliers, possible purchase quotes, and the final value of the sponsorship required. The money will be sent directly to the selected supplier and the sponsorship will be posted immediately on the IHA website.
In the event donors do not wish to support some or all of the specific needs but instead to make a small, monetary offer of $30, $ 50, $ 100, $ 500 etc. for the needs of the victims of the fires, they can deposit this amount to the IHA account in the USA or for Greece to the FRIENDS OF CULTURE account marked Victims of Fire -2018. Please help us relieve the sufferings of our fellow human beings – and with them Greece, which is going through the deepest crisis in its modern history!

Αγαπητοι Φίλοι,
2018 αναδεικνύεται μια εφιαλτική χρονιά για την Ελλάδα μας. Συνέβησαν τραγικά γεγονότα που σημάδεψαν για πάντα στις ζωές πολλών συνανθρώπων μας. Ένα από τα τραγικά γεγονότα ήταν οι φονικές πυρκαγιές του Ιουλίου στην Αττική και στην Κορινθία που παρέσυραν στο θάνατο 96 συνανθρώπους μας, χιλιάδες στρέμματα πράσινου και καταστροφές σπιτιών και κατασκευών, ανυπολόγιστης υλικής αξίας.
Το INTERNATIONAL HELLENIC ASSOCIALTION (ΙΗΑ) συμμετέχοντας στην πανεθνική προσπάθεια ενίσχυσης των πυρόπληκτων, αποφάσισε να εστιάσει την βοήθεια του στις περιοχές Κορινθίας και Μεγαρίδος.
Για τον σκοπό αυτό ήρθε σε επαφή με Σχολεία της περιοχής, την κοινότητα της Κινέττας στην οποία αποτεφρώθηκαν 220 σπίτια και τον Σύλλογο Προστασίας του Δάσους «Άγιοι Θεόδωροι» καταγράφοντας αναλυτικά τις τεράστιες ανάγκες που υπάρχουν.
Όλες οι ανάγκες έχουν αναρτηθεί συγκεντρωτικά, με ένα ενδεικτικό προϋπολογισμό κάθε ανάγκης, στην ιστοσελίδα του ΙΗΑ – εδώ .
Καλούμε όποιον επιθυμεί να στηρίξει την πανεθνική προσπάθεια να αναλάβει, ολικά ή μερικά, κάποια συγκεκριμένη ανάγκη από αυτές που αναγράφονται αναλυτικά στην ιστοσελίδα του ΙΗΑ, π.χ. τις Αντιπυρηνικές κουβέρτες ή τις μαθητικές τσάντες για τις ανάγκες των παιδιών κ.ο.κ.ε.
Το ΙΗΑ θα φροντίσει αμέσως να ενημερώσει τους ενδιαφερόμενους για τους πιθανούς προμηθευτές, ενδεχόμενες προσφορές και την τελική αξία της χορηγίας που απαιτείται. Τα χρήματα θα σταλούν απ΄ ευθείας στον προμηθευτή που θα επιλεγεί και η χορηγία θα καταχωρηθεί αμέσως στην ιστοσελίδα του ΙΗΑ.
Σε περίπτωση που κάποιος επιθυμεί να μην αναλάβει μερικά ή εξ ολοκλήρου κάποια συγκεκριμένη ανάγκη αλλά να κάνει μια μικρή, συμβολική προσφορά, $30, $50, $100, $500 κτλ για τις ανάγκες των πυρόπληκτων, μπορεί να καταθέσει το συμβολικό ποσό που επιθυμεί στον λογαριασμό του ΙΗΑ στην Αμερική η για την Ελλάδα στον λογαριασμό ΦΙΛΟΙ ΠΟΛΙΤΙΣΜΟΥ με την ένδειξη Victims of Fire -2018.
